The Basics of Men’s Fashion

men2When it comes to men’s fashion, most guys do not have any idea that clothing really makes the man and what you wear is important not only to yourself but to others. First impression really matters and men’s fashion must be taken seriously. If you want to be noticed, you need to know these basics of fashion.

The first thing you need to remember in men’s fashion is the fact that expensive wardrobe will not do the trick if you do not have proper posture. Make sure to stand up straight and carry yourself with confidence.

Wearing clothes that fit your body type can make a big difference. Shop for clothes that you feel comfortable in. If you lost a few pounds, your wardrobe may need to be altered and visit a tailor.

Find items that work for you. Stand in front of the mirror and know what styles and colors look good on you. Do not be afraid to try new things though classics are still the best choice if you want to be on the safe side.

Do not wear wrinkled or soiled clothes. As much as possible choose fabrics that are wrinkle-resistant or make an effort to use the iron. Formal wear and suits must be taken to the dry cleaner.

Make sure to avoid wearing horizontal stripes unless you are lean and tall. Horizontal stripes tend to make you look shorter and heavier. Good choices are clothing with solid and dark colors in order to make you appear slimmer.

Stay away from bright and loud patterns and colors. Navy blue and the basic black are best for casual or work. Add other flattering colors to complete your attire.

mens-mistakeWith such little information available, compared to women about men and fashion trends – it can be easy to make mistakes when it comes to choosing your clothes. Here are some common fashion mistakes that are made by many men and how to avoid these mistakes while you are dressing to impress.

Stay away from trends. Trends should not make up the bulk of your wardrobe, rather, classic pieces can create a polished appearance and allow you to create a timeless style that will be an effective way to remain current. Choose designer classics to make up the bulk of the wardrobe and reserve twenty to thirty percent of the wardrobe for fashion trends. These trends come and go and should be avoided from season to season.

Ditch the casual pants. There is a certain sign of becoming a man – and this is creating a signature style for yourself. This signature style should include a casual look, but this casual look should be polished enough for the man to realize that collared shirts and jeans as well as the combination of a t-shirt and blazer is an effective way to appear casual – while still appearing stylish.

Many men choose the wrong shoes. There are two types of shoes that should be avoided unless you are camping – and even this can be argued. Never wear crocs or clogs outside of this experience if you want to keep that polished look. Crocs are for the garden and children under five – keep this in mind and you will remain in style.

Above all, determine how an item of clothing fits. The fit of an item of clothing is an essential part of a good wardrobe. The good wardrobe will include good fitting items. If necessary, get items tailored so they are able to meet he fit of your body. Buying clothes off of the rack is fine, but have these pieces of clothing tailored to fit your body to ensure that you are making the best impression.

Casual doesn’t need to mean your sweat pants that are sticking around from college. Casual can mean a pair of designer jeans with collared shirt, or a pair of jeans with your favorite t-shirt topped off with a blazer. Appearing too casual is a mistake that too many men make through their wardrobe and this should be avoided in order to make the best first impression possible.

Are you seeking for a staple of the wardrobe? This should include at least one pair of shoes with at least one belt. Although you no longer have to match one to another, it is important to have at least these items in the wardrobe. This can mean that you will appear polished through the entire process of dressing if these items are in place.

Use these fashion tips to stay ahead of the game in fashion.

How to Find the Perfect Trench Coat

trenchThe trench coat is an accessory that can be combined with any outfit, whether you are trying to dress up a pair of jeans or you are simply trying to cover a barely there dress. Jackets and coats can be difficult to shop for, as there are not many guides available to point consumers in the right direction – here are some things to keep in mind when you are shopping for a trench coat, regardless of the season:

If you are petite, this means 5′4 and under, you should shy away from coats that are any longer than a blazer or a ¾ length. This can help to elongate the body. Choose a belted, wide waist coat to make the most of your figure and use the best to cinch your waist. Match a hot and bold color of this season with dark wash whites to make the most of your figure.

If you have a pear shaped body than an A line coat is going to be the best bet when choosing a trench coat. Choose a double breasted coat, with no pockets or invisible pockets to ensure that you are creating a slim appearance.

If you are busty, choose a V-neck trench coat with a slim, but loose waist to ensure that you are making the most of your coat. This choice can cause you to look slimmer when it is paired with wedge or stacked heels according to style experts.
